The National Police presents the 15 trainee officers who will reinforce the Arrecife staff

The National Police reinforces its staff in the Canary Islands with the incorporation of 218 trainee agents who will complete their final year of training in the various police stations on the Islands. Of these students, 189 are basic scale agents who are already on the Islands and the remaining 29 are trainee inspectors who will join the Canary Islands staff on the 24th of this month.

15 agents have joined the Arrecife Police Station and were presented to the media on Tuesday morning. The average age of the police students is 29 years old. Of the basic scale agents, 46 are women and 143 are men. And as for training, 71 have university studies and 118 have professional training or intermediate or higher level cycles.

During this period they will be assigned a tutor belonging to the executive scale who will be ultimately responsible for their training, and in each operational area they will be accompanied by a professional with extensive experience who will be responsible for monitoring their progress.

The objective of the internships is for each police aspirant to know, in a global way, the services of a police station and to begin to acquire the skills and abilities that will be essential in the development of their police work. Values such as responsibility, dedication, integrity, team spirit, decision and correctness with citizens and their colleagues, are parameters that will be required of these future police officers.

Next week, 29 trainee inspectors will also join the staff of the Islands.

Safe Summer Plan 2019

With the arrival of summer, the National Police has reinforced its presence in the main tourist areas of the archipelago.

The agents will monitor the main communication routes, stations, ports, airports, hotels, beaches or any area of high tourist concentration, reinforcing security measures in shows and events that involve large concentrations of people.
