The municipal library of Puerto del Carmen is moving

The municipal library of Puerto del Carmen, located in the El Fondeadero Civic Center, will be moved in the next few days to new facilities, specifically to the building at 17 Bajamar Street. This was announced by the Councilor for Culture of the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, who highlights that the new facilities "meet better conditions than the current ones, since these are more spacious and brighter".

Vizcaíno emphasizes that "the new space is much more modern and completely accessible." In addition, the mayor advances that "the imminent transfer is also due to the fact that the adaptation and renovation works of the El Fondeadero Civic Center will begin soon, so the sooner the change is carried out, the better."

Thus, from the Department of Culture they announce that from this Thursday, February 16, the Fondeadero library will remain closed to conclude with the tasks of the final transfer of equipment, material and bibliographic funds, which reach 7,000 copies, including narrative, poetry, theater, dictionaries and encyclopedias.

From the City Council they point out that the opening to the public of the new library will take place "as soon as possible", although they have not yet given a date. While the transfer is being carried out, the City Council reminds that the users of the Puerto del Carmen library, which amount to an average of between 25 and 30 people daily, "also have at their disposal the municipal library of Tías, near the Theater, whose hours are from 10 in the morning to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m."
