The Tías City Council has allocated 8,560 euros to contracting the drafting of the project for "Conditioning, conservation and maintenance of an educational facility building", located on Juan Carlos I street in Puerto del Carmen.
The council's objective is to "expedite procedures with the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands and achieve the adaptation of the building to current regulations so that it can be used by families with children from 0 to 3 years old," they comment.
The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands provided the City Council with a series of recommendations to take into account in the project, such as "improving the general conditions of the spaces of the future nursery school." For example, "the six classrooms planned will have to adapt to current regulations regarding the minimum size required", it informs.
Among these recommendations, they highlight "the provision of a space for the school nursing service and the creation of a toilet for visitors, in addition to the improvement of the kitchen with an area for pantry, laundry and cleaning point," it adds. All this in accordance "with the regulations for the preparation, distribution and sale of prepared meals and hygiene of food products," it makes clear.
"The universal accessibility of the entire premises will be a crucial part of the project, as well as the necessary improvement of the conditions of the patios and play elements," they confirm. "The adaptation to the technical code of materials and finishes will be relevant, improving pavements, doors and windows," among others, they conclude.
