The Popular Party regrets that the Lanzarote deputies of the PSOE in the Parliament of the Canary Islands "have voted against each and every one of the amendments presented from the island to improve the investments planned by the Government in the General Budgets for the coming year. Proposals raised from the ranks of the PP that would mean an increase in investment of 4.4 million euros."
"Despite being a very reasonable amount, the socialist parliamentarians, led by Dolores Corujo, have turned their backs and ignored the needs of the citizens," "passing the buck to initiatives that only sought the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands in services as basic as the Arrecife soup kitchen," for which a budget of just 100,000 euros was requested. It is "sad and regrettable" to see the "lack of sensitivity of the socialist secretary and president of the Cabildo, Dolores Corujo," who has been "unable to seek the support of her parliamentary group for a service aimed at the most vulnerable people in our society and of whom she is so fond of talking."
"The lack of support from the PSOE for the soup kitchen is a clear example of the demagoguery and sectarianism of the socialist discourse when the moment of truth really arrives. It is regrettable that for the mere fact of being a service launched by the Popular Party in the Arrecife City Council, the higher institutions where the PSOE governs, and where Corujo has a lot to say, vote against and refuse any economic collaboration with the capital due to their partisan blindness," the populars criticize.
In addition to voting against the soup kitchen, "Corujo and her socialist colleagues have also done the same with the 150,000 euro amendment to update and reactivate the senior center in the capital. A demand made by the users themselves who are very unhappy with the way the regional executive is managing it," says the PP.
"It is very good that Corujo promotes herself by taking photos with the elderly, but it would be better if, in the performance of her duties, she had raised her hand to support these two social initiatives in Parliament that are fully justified," the populars conclude.
