The manager of Urbaser in Lanzarote, Jacinto Álvarez, is having to face his hierarchical superiors in the company this Wednesday in the Courts, Manuel Andrés Martínez and Santiago Alonso, arrested last Monday in Madrid. The judge has made him return to the Palace of Justice to undergo a confrontation with the directors, who this Wednesday have been brought to judicial disposition.
Thus, after declaring again this Tuesday for several hours, Álvarez has had to ratify his statements again, in front of the other defendants, who he allegedly pointed out as directly responsible for the alleged bribes paid to public officials and employees by Urbaser, both for the award of the cleaning service contract in Arrecife and for subsequent revisions of prices and invoices charged to the Consistory.
Jacinto Álvarez left the Courts after 2:30 p.m., although he re-entered around 3:30 p.m., presumably to continue with the confrontations.
Confrontations are repeated
This is not the first time that the judge has subjected the defendants to confrontations. It already happened a few weeks ago, when the magistrate summoned the former PIL councilor in Arrecife, José Miguel Rodríguez, during the interrogations of the councilors Antonio Machín and Luisa Blanco.
