The members of the Canarian Coalition (CC) will soon elect the representatives of the party's bodies. In this way, the political council, the executive and the general secretariats "that will be established following the scheme at the Canary Islands level", explained the spokesperson for this formation in Lanzarote, Ángeles García. The appointment will be at the island congress to be held on October 1.

During the meeting, the lines to be developed during the working day will be presentations dedicated to topics such as the policy to be followed until 2007, economic and territorial development, social policies, Canarian identity and citizen participation, that is, "that within the framework that was already established at the national level of CC, preparing presentations that will be the ideology that the party will have from October 1 at the Lanzarote level", said Ángeles García. In this sense, one of the most outstanding aspects is the preparation of the plans to be followed for the elections in two years. In this sense, the party spokesperson highlighted: "The presentations represent a point where the objectives and lines to be followed from here to 2007 will be established because once the elections have passed there will be another congress, that is, it is done by guidelines and the political lines are set for the next elections".

Process

To carry out this congress, the party members have already started working. First, the topics to be discussed are established, which will then be passed on to the local committees. These bodies will make the contributions they deem necessary so that the final program of the Lanzarote assembly is finally approved.

A meeting in which affiliates and guests will participate. Furthermore, according to Ángeles García, in the last political council a commission was mandated to elaborate all the details of the congress "and we usually hope to have the presence of people from outside and from other parties, although we still don't have anyone confirmed".
