CEIP Guenia de Guatiza has inaugurated this Tuesday its new school canteen, which will be launched for schoolchildren next September, with the start of the course. The canteen has 36 places. The Teguise City Council has reported that in the event that there is more demand, "two shifts would be made."
With this inauguration, the Consistory has assured that it resolves "one of the main demands of the educational community of this center." And this school was losing students "in recent years" precisely for not having this complementary service.
The management of the canteen will be carried out through an agreement with the City Council, which will be responsible for subsidizing the places of the diners. The inauguration of the school canteen was attended by the mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, the councilors of the government group Lourdes Cabrera and Echedey Eugenio, the PIL councilor María del Mar Gopar, and the vice president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Joaquín Caraballo, among others.
