The Ministry of Social Welfare, Youth and Housing of the Canary Islands Government, through the Canary Islands Housing Institute, will subsidize this year with 900,000 euros for the implementation and maintenance of housing management offices aimed at providing information and offering support for the management of protected actions in the field of housing, the autonomous department points out in a statement.

The BOC publishes in its edition of this Friday, October 30, the order approving the regulatory bases that must govern the call for generic subsidies aimed at the Canary Island municipalities, for the implementation and maintenance of management offices of housing for information and support to the management of protected actions in the field of housing.

According to the Minister of Social Welfare, Youth and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands, Inés Rojas, with this measure "we bring information on the various aid and subsidies in housing matters of the Plan to the citizens, we reach their city council and speed up the management". The regional leader adds that "the collaboration of local corporations is essential to facilitate information to the largest number of people, which is why it is so important that municipalities have information and support offices for the Canary Islands Housing Plan and are equipped with the material and personal resources that streamline administrative procedures, the awarding of protected housing, registration in the register of housing applicants, among others".

Currently, the Canary Islands Government subsidizes more than 50 municipal offices distributed throughout the seven islands, which, as the autonomous head of Housing assures, "are allowing more people to access all the Government's actions to facilitate access to housing", explains Rojas in the statement.

In the past edition, 55 municipalities in the Canary Islands benefited from this subsidy, of which 46 used it for their maintenance, since they received the aid granted in previous calls, and nine accessed the subsidy for their opening. The subsidized activity consists, mainly and obligatorily, in carrying out activities aimed at the implementation or maintenance of housing management offices for information and support to the management of protected actions in the field of housing.
