The Ministry of Employment, Social Policies and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands has begun the improvement and comprehensive rehabilitation works on a total of 313 rental homes in the public housing stock of the Canarian Housing Institute (Icavi) located in Lanzarote, to which it will allocate a total of 1,531,901.36 euros.
These works, whose execution period ends on December 31, contemplate the realization of various repair and conservation works, including actions of conditioning and painting of facades, as well as waterproofing of roofs and cistern. These actions will mean "an important improvement of two public housing developments located in the municipality of Arrecife and another in Tías", according to the regional Executive.
Specifically, a total of 1,157,285.63 euros will be allocated to the improvement and comprehensive rehabilitation works and garden areas of the Los Alonso or Antigua Salinas development, which form a set of 150 homes.
In addition, a sum of 214,684.6 euros will be invested in the waterproofing of roofs and cistern, as well as renovation works on the slopes in the paving of the central corridors and replacement of the water connections of the group of 100 homes located in Argana Alta. The Canarian Executive affirms that it has already carried out repair and rehabilitation works on facades in this group of 100 homes, including cleaning, repair, renovation and exterior painting, thanks to the investment of 92,909.68 euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), managed by the autonomous Government.
Finally, 159,931.57 euros will be dedicated to the exterior painting of the facade of the Los Lirios group in the municipality of Tías, works that will allow the improvement of this group of 63 homes in social rental regime.
