The workers of Clusa, the company in charge of the garbage collection service in San Bartolomé, have presented a notice of indefinite strike for next Thursday, November 17. The strike, according to the City Council, is due to the economic difficulties the company is going through, despite the fact that the City Council "has always complied with payments".
The San Bartolomé City Council explains that it has already initiated the file to terminate the contract due to breach by the Clusa company and now, in the face of the notification of a strike notice for the garbage collection service, it announces that it will take "appropriate measures".
The government group of the San Bartolomé City Council has held conversations with the spokespersons of the different political groups with representation in the municipal plenary to inform them of the situation of the Clusa company, which provides the garbage collection service in the municipality of San Bartolomé, and how the service will be affected by the economic problems affecting the company.
The mayor of the municipality, María Dolores Corujo, asks for "apologies in advance to all residents for the inconvenience that the strike may cause, if it takes place, asking for collaboration, keeping the garbage bags tightly closed and in a cool place, as far as possible in homes, to avoid exposing them to the sun, and reiterate that, from the City Council, we will do everything possible to resolve this situation quickly".
