The Gaida Cultural and Folk Association, from Tías, has denounced the organizers of the festivities in honor of San José Obrero, which are celebrated in La Asomada, for using the same name for these festivities that the group uses for the celebration of its annual festival. This association has considered that "they should use the great Spanish lexicon and not copy or plagiarize what others create".

This Folk Association will celebrate its IV Gaida mountain folk festival 2010, which will take place on April 23 at 9:00 p.m. in the grand hall of Rancho Texas, in Puerto del Carmen. "As the title says, it is the IV that we do and it is not relevant that there are now two festivals with the same names. Apart from being unfair, it seems shameful to us," they have denounced.

For all this, they have demanded a public rectification of the typical act that is going to be celebrated in the aforementioned town, to which they wish "a better future than better". "But each one with their things and God with everyone's", the group assured, through a statement.
