The State Contracting Platform has published the announcement of the Arrecife City Council's call for tenders for the contract for the first phase of the Calle Portugal rainwater plan, budgeted at 85,195 euros.
"Through this initiative, we are going to solve the flooding problems suffered by Calle Portugal caused by the rains, due to the collapse suffered by the sewage network where the water from the rainfall currently goes, causing real havoc in this area,” said the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez.
According to the Councilor for Urban Planning, Eduardo Placeres, the action will be carried out in the section located between Blas Cabrera Topham and Calle Paraguay streets, at the intersection with Doctor Fleming street. “It will consist of demolishing the pavement, sidewalks and curbs affected by the works and the subsequent excavation for installation of pipes, gullies, transverse drainage channel and wells, which will be connected to the existing rainwater channel”, he details.
With an execution period of two months once the contract is signed, the works will end with the replacement of curbs, sidewalk pavements and the affected pavement, as well as the corresponding horizontal and vertical signage.
Interested companies may submit their offers until 9 a.m. on August 30. The announcement and bidding conditions are available on the Public Sector Contracting Platform. The execution of the work will be carried out through FDCAN (Canary Islands Development Fund) funds from the Cabildo de Lanzarote that it distributes to the municipalities.
