The Casa-Museo del Campesino is now the new headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote, after the signing of the agreement that makes several premises of that tourist center available to the wine entity for a period of ten years, which may be extended.

The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, wanted to thank "the coordination and good work carried out by both institutions to reach a strategic agreement for a key sector of the island." In addition, she expressed her confidence that the new premises "offer appropriate responses to the sector", and considered that "the Casa Museo del Campesino is the appropriate place to give greater visibility to a product so linked to our history and a traditional way of life that has become an essential element in the promotion of a quality destination that is committed to the primary sector, the ethnographic heritage and the sustainability of the territory."

Also present at the event were the mayor of the City Council of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, the Councilor for Agriculture, Raúl de León, and the secretary of the Regulatory Council, Nereida Pérez.

"The Casa Museo del Campesino and the Regulatory Council will mutually benefit from an agreement that allows us to be in the geographic center of the island, at the entrance of La Geria, in a strategic space to give visibility to the work of winegrowers, winemakers and all those professionals related to the wine sector of the island", said the president of the Council.

"It allows us to strengthen ties with a fundamental entity of Lanzarote and continue advancing in our strategy to turn the Tourist Centers into the best showcase to enjoy the gastronomic offer of the island," added the CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo.

After the signing of the agreement, Corujo handed over the keys to the premises to the president of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin of Wines of Lanzarote.
