The Arrecife City Council has put out to tender the improvement of the energy efficiency of the Capellanía del Yágabo school for 120,000 euros.
The Public Sector Contracting Platform inserts the official announcement of the Arrecife City Hall in which this work is tendered. Companies have until August 1, 2023 to submit their proposals and documentation.
From the Area of Education and Culture, directed by Abigail González, this new improvement project has been developed in schools for the execution of the works of replacement of the skylight and side enclosures existing on the roof of the main building of the Capellanía del Yágabo Infant and Primary Education Center for an amount of approximately one hundred and twenty thousand euros.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, has expressed his satisfaction with the fact that "this investment will significantly improve the educational building of 'Capellanía del Yágabo' and will benefit the entire school community. We will continue to promote more investments for the modernization of schools, attending to the requests of the AMPAS, School Council, Educational Community and students of these schools."
For her part, the Councilor of the Area, Abigail González, has stressed that this is an initiative that "reflects our commitment to improving educational facilities in our city. We recognize the importance of providing students with a safe and adequate environment that promotes their learning and well-being. We are committed to ensuring that educational spaces meet the highest standards of quality, and this renovation will contribute to this."
The councilor also wanted to recognize the efforts of the previous councilor of the Area of Education, Saro González, "who carried out an extraordinary work and whose involvement and effort have allowed us to be in a position to tender this work so important for the aforementioned educational infrastructure."
The skylight and the side enclosures of the main building of the CEIP 'Capellanía del Yágabo' have reached a state in which they need an urgent replacement and, with these works, the Arrecife City Council intends to improve the energy efficiency of the building, increase the entry of natural light into the classrooms and provide an adequate and comfortable environment for the learning of the student body.
In this sense, the company that is awarded the contract must carry out the replacement of the skylight, proceeding to dismantle the current one and repairing the damaged elements in the process, in addition to the cracks and chips in the support wall as in the structural joint of the building. Likewise, it must replace the waterproofing in the connection of the roof with the parapet of the wall on which the skylight will be supported. Finally, it must replace the existing ventilation grilles in the support wall, carry out the assembly of the framework of uprights and crossbars of steel and execute the installation of aluminum carpentry which will be attached to the framework and, subsequently, the laminated safety glass.
From the Department of Education and Culture it has already been announced that it will work in close collaboration with the awarded company to ensure that the works are carried out efficiently in the space of one hundred and twenty working days established by the contract, minimizing the inconvenience to the educational community.
Finally, the Councilor for Education and Culture has taken the opportunity to thank all the teachers, parents, and staff of the educational center for their understanding and support during the renovation period.
