The Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Security, Emergency, Rescue and Fire Prevention Consortium of Lanzarote, has put out to public tender a new fire-fighting vehicle with the aim of proceeding with extinction and rescue at height and in narrow streets.
The truck will have a compact 32-meter articulated automatic ladder. The amount of the contract, as specified in the 'Public Sector Contracting Platform', will be "765,000 euros, excluding taxes." Companies interested in this tender may submit their offers until March 4.
The councilor and head of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco Javier Aparicio, believes that "this new vehicle will not only serve to provide more security to the narrowest and most complicated roads, but also has the purpose of facilitating the work of firefighters with more adequate and modern means that adapt to their needs."
Likewise, it should be noted that the duration of the contract will be "14 months without any type of extension", the Island Council has advanced.
