The Emergency Consortium sets out a work plan for the town councils in the face of the rains

The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium held this Wednesday, in the plenary hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the follow-up commission for the prevention of incidents due to rain, in which the most important point of the agenda was to review with the town councils the critical points to avoid them, with the consistories explaining how they are preparing, except Tinajo and Tías, who did not attend.

In this sense, Arrecife pointed out that this year it has planned an economic item dedicated to cleaning ravines and drains, works that will be completed at the end of November. For their part, Teguise, San Bartolomé and Yaiza pointed out that they already have the works and cleaning practically completed. Haría, who has just started to perform this service, said that it will prioritize these tasks hoping to have them finished before the rains.

Canal Gestión Lanzarote, which is part of this working session, reported that the company has reviewed the 365 drains connected to the sewage network. They have also reviewed ten wastewater stations and in the coming days they will do so in four more, as well as re-check the grilles or drains in Portugal and Doctor Gómez Ulla streets,

The fire service also provided a report with the points that they had supervised and that needed intervention. All the councils present pledged to check their status in the coming weeks.

Hydrant network

The meeting also presented the cartographic inventory of the hydrants of the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, the network of water supply points for fire-fighting tanks for the exclusive use of the Emergency Consortium. This tool is especially useful for the fire department, because it allows them, through a web viewer, to analyze all the inventoried information. In total. there are 50 spread throughout the island's geography: 18 in Arrecife; 15 San Bartolomé; 6 Teguise, 4 Yaiza, 3 Haría and one in Tinajo.
