The Department of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has started a "monitoring round" through the different conejeros consistories to know the status of the different works financed by the island corporation. In this case, the counselor Jacobo Medina has met with the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra.
The first municipality to which Medina has moved has been the City Council of Tías, where he was received by the mayor of the municipality, José Juan Cruz, the deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, and the head of Works, Ulpiano Calero.
The vice president and head of the area assures that communication with the different city councils "is fundamental to meet the deadlines", and thanks the political representatives "for the welcome and willingness to hold this meeting".
Reform in sociocultural centers
The municipal councilors and the Minister of Public Works reviewed some of the interventions that are currently being carried out, such as the integral reforms of the sociocultural centers of Conil and Masdache.
"The one in Masdache is practically finished, while the teleclub of Conil is already in the final phase of its transformation," explains Medina, who also points out that for these interventions more than 700,000 euros have been allocated through the Municipal Cooperation Plan of 2022.
From the same Municipal Cooperation Plan of 2022, the conditioning of the layout and the improvement of the pavement of the sections of the Los Fajardos and Los Lirios road is pending to be tendered, in order to improve safety in the accesses to the IES Tías.
On the other hand, the progress of the renovation works of public lighting in La Asomada and Conil was also assessed, a work financed through the FDCAN funds and for which more than one million euros have been invested in each of the population centers of Tías. In addition, with the same funds, the rehabilitation of the pavement of the LZ-501 road, which connects Conil and La Asomada, is currently being carried out, for which almost 900,000 euros have been invested.
They also put on the table that there is still an intervention of the PCM of 2020, corresponding to the project of the exterior lighting of the football field of Puerto del Carmen, still pending to be awarded.
It should be remembered that the Cabildo of Lanzarote granted, last October, an extension to the city councils to complete the works of the PCM of 2020 until next July 2024.
