The "Arrecife Carnival Mannequin Contest 2016: A Carnival of Fear" already has winners. The initiative, launched for the first time this year by the Department of Commerce led by Isabel Mesa, has been received "positively" by the merchants of Arrecife, as stated by the councilor herself.
"Our goal was to boost small and medium businesses in the municipality during these Carnival festivities," she stressed.
Thus, after several days of exhibition, the members assigned to the Valuation Table have decided this Thursday, January 28, to award the first prize to the "Demonic Angel" of Decoraciones Pallarés y Martín S.L, the second to "La Frankie" by Muss (Grupo Albahaca 191 S.L) and the third to "Batipelágica" by Lencería Daida.
The Councilor of Commerce, who personally congratulated the winners this Thursday and presented them with their corresponding awards, recalled that "in the evaluation of the participating establishments, aspects such as originality, design, combination of colors, optimal display of funds and, of course, that they were in accordance with the allegory of this year's carnival, have been taken into account".
For the awards, in the rules of the contest, the Department of Commerce established three categories: A first prize of 300 euros, a second of 200 and a third of 100, in addition to a distinctive plaque to each of them.
Likewise, each of the awarded categories will be given a distinctive prize band, which each mannequin must wear at the Drag Queen gala (January 30), as they will remain on display during the course of the same.
