Situation: On the same day of his arrest he was brought to justice. He was released, but charged with a crime of urban planning prevarication
Trajectory: He has been mayor of the Yaiza City Council between 1994 and 2008 and, currently, he is a councilor in the opposition of the PNL. He is sentenced to ten years of disqualification in the first instance for a crime of prevarication for the granting of an urban license on rustic land. Likewise, he has several trials pending, such as the one for the large Costa Roja residential complex, as well as the one referring to an alleged plot of granting illegal licenses in Playa Blanca.
Connection to the case: The crime of urban planning prevarication that he is now accused of would have been committed during his term as mayor of Yaiza. That is, this accusation would not be the result of the year of wiretapping that the Civil Guard has practiced in Lanzarote, but dates back to when José Francisco Reyes was the first mayor in the southern City Council. His name would have come out during the statements of other people in the framework of Operation "Unión"
