The Costa Teguise Recycling Center is finally operational, three years after the date announced in its day. And it is that although the work executed by the Cabildo was already completed, the accesses had not been made.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, the Minister of Waste, Hugo Delgado, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and representatives of Urbaser and the Waste team of the island institution. This space is "the first installed in the municipality of this type and will allow effective recycling of those devices that cannot be deposited in the usual containers," says the Cabildo.

The president, María Dolores Corujo, explained that with this installation "there are already five put into operation" by the Island Corporation in different municipalities. "These actions demonstrate the Cabildo's firm commitment to caring for and preserving the environment of the island of Lanzarote," she defends.

For his part, the Minister of Waste of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Hugo Delgado, pointed out that the work has a budget of 453,708.92 euros, which have been paid with a subsidy from the Government of the Canary Islands. "This installation represents an advance in our way of working for the people," he said.

The Costa Teguise Recycling Center, located in front of the urbanization of Calle de Las Buganvillas, has a loading access area, container area, gardens and perimeters, on a plot of 2024.98 square meters.
