The Arrecife City Council has awarded the cleaning service of the city's schools to the company Perfaler Canarias S.L., which has been the winner of the tender called by the City Council, in which a total of seven companies submitted their offers. Thus, it will take over the service for an amount of 1,088,875 euros plus IGIC.
Perfaler's proposal, based in Arrecife, obtained the highest score due to the extra services it offered. In this sense, it will deliver cleaning material to the schools for a value of 3,000 euros each month. In addition, it will carry out 21 weekly hours of extraordinary cleaning services for the bathrooms and dining rooms of the schools.
The contract will have a maximum term of two years, which may be extended, by mutual agreement, for another two years. The awarded company will carry out the cleaning, from Monday to Saturday, from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the schools Benito Méndez Tarajano, Titerroy, Argana Alta, La Destila, Antonio Zerolo, as well as the schools Mercedes Medina, Los Geranios, Adolfo Topham, Capellanía del Yágabo and Nieves Toledo.
The Councilor for Education, Lorenzo Lemaur, has expressed his satisfaction that this service has finally been awarded and has expressed his desire that, "on this occasion, everything runs smoothly and the awarded company does not pose payment problems to the City Council, as happened last year".
Terms and Conditions
According to the technical administrative specifications, very serious offenses will be considered "the stoppage or interruption of services for more than one day without justified cause, the manifestly defective or irregular provision of services, failure to comply with service modification orders and the commission of three or more serious offenses", which are also specified in said specifications.
Likewise, it is indicated that the contractor may subcontract with third parties the partial execution of the contract, "provided that the total amount of the subcontracted parts does not exceed 60 percent of the amount of the contract award". In any case, the contractor must notify the City Council in writing at least five business days before the date on which the execution of the subcontract is to begin.
Perfaler Canarias S.L. must also have almost 50 people to cover the cleaning service of the aforementioned schools and a minimum staff of 24 people for the extraordinary cleaning at Christmas, Carnival, Easter and August.
