The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, signed this week another investment order awarding 80,000 euros for the set of improvements planned and tendered by the City Council for the sports center of the town of Yaiza, next to the municipal soccer field. The works include the non-conventional athletics track of this same facility and other actions in the surroundings such as the rehabilitation of two 3x3 basketball courts and the conditioning of the tennis court.
Yaiza specifies these actions of the sports facilities modernization plan co-financing its execution through a subsidy obtained with the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands on behalf of the program of areas of socioeconomic influence of the National Parks of the Canary Islands.
"We ratify the municipal commitment to update our sports facilities and build new centers so demanded by the population as the Playa Blanca Sports Hall, a project in execution to which we even decided to introduce improvements, including the installation of prefabricated swimming pools accepting duly supported technical recommendations,” said Óscar Noda.
In the case of the Yaiza sports center, the City Council points out that the surfaces of the courts are "deteriorated", and therefore require the renovation of their pavement, new marking and also the fencing of the area for the case of the basketball and tennis courts.
"When we approved the municipal budget we already announced our investment capacity of 17.5 million euros, money from our neighbors that we have the obligation to make available to projects of general interest,” concludes the mayor of the southern municipality.
