The Tías City Council has reported the opening of the children's park in the renovated Plaza de las Naciones after being rehabilitated with a project financed by the council itself.

According to the Consistory, this project has allowed the children's park to be adapted "to the rehabilitation work of the Plaza de las Naciones and the adaptation of the Avenida de las Playas", all within the framework of the Modernization Plan of Puerto del Carmen.

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the second deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, visited the children's park this week to see the result of the works carried out, which were adapted to all safety and efficiency standards in a space of 350.57 square meters.

According to the report of the rehabilitation project of the children's park, the determination was made to maintain the previous location of the park, due to its importance and its use by a large number of users. "Although it remains in the same location, the shape and surface of the ground where it is located changes, so that the two actions can coexist," they point out from the City Council. That is, the work of the park and the work of the square together with the adaptation of the Avenue.

During the works they maintain that "a continuous impact safety pavement was conditioned, the relocation of the games and furniture of the park with the repair of the same and the placement of a new perimeter fence".

From the City Council of Tías they assure that the games of the park were "in an acceptable state of conservation, although it was necessary to repair and complete some elements." However, they were games that "could be reused and that comply with the UNE standard that applies to it." The eliminated fence was in poor condition, being more effective to install a new perimeter fence. They add from Tías that the same thing happened "with the impact safety pavement, made with rubber tiles that were completely obsolete and burned."
