The Government of the Canary Islands has now reported that the alert level measures on each of the islands approved this Thursday by the Governing Council will come into effect at 00.00 hours on Monday, July 26. Thus, despite the fact that Lanzarote has risen to level 2, the restrictions of level 1 will remain in force during the weekend.

The regional Executive states that it has taken this decision "to facilitate the transition of level and, therefore, the application and compliance with the new rules in each of the areas involved." Therefore, during this weekend, all the islands will remain at the alert levels prior to those approved this Thursday.

Thus, La Gomera, El Hierro will continue with the level 1 restrictions until Monday, as will Lanzarote. For their part, La Palma and Gran Canaria will continue with the level 2 measures and Tenerife and Fuerteventura with those of level 3. From Monday, El Hierro will remain at level 1, but Lanzarote and La Gomera will change to level 2, Fuerteventura, La Palma and Gran Canaria will do so to level 3 and Tenerife will rise to level 4.

In the case of Lanzarote, this means that, during this weekend, meetings between non-cohabitants can continue to be of 10 people, although from Monday they will have to be reduced to six. As for the closing time of hotels and restaurants, at level 1 it is at 02:00 hours and at level 2 at 00:00 hours.

In addition, at level 1 nightlife is allowed, also until 02:00 hours, but at level 2 its opening will be prohibited.

As for the capacity of bars and restaurants, during the weekend there will be no limit on terraces and interiors may not exceed 75%, with the maximum number of diners per table being 10 people outside and six inside. As for consumption at the bar, at level 1 it is allowed in groups of up to four people.

However, from Monday these capacities will be reduced, going to be 75% on terraces with a maximum of six diners per table, and 50% indoors, with a maximum of four diners per table. At the bar, consumption will only be allowed in groups of maximum two people.
