The Cabildo of Lanzarote agrees in the last Governing Council to transfer the use of the so-called "Casa del Cura" of Haría for the creation of a Craft Center in the northern municipality.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the mayoress of Haría, Evelia García, ratified this agreement between both institutions in a meeting that served to confirm the intention of both to turn the municipality into the "Lanzarote Craft Center".
Dolores Corujo thanked the mayoress and the City Council for the initiative, which "has been fighting in recent times for Haría and, in this case, the Casa del Cura, to be the nerve center of this cultural expression so important for Lanzarote."
"We must carry out several rehabilitation actions on the space but with this agreement we fulfill the commitment acquired by both administrations," added the president.
For her part, the mayoress thanked the "predisposition of the Cabildo of Lanzarote in the transfer of these facilities by and for the use of the residents of Haría" and pointed out that "a place like this is essential to continue developing a sector so valued in the north."
