After protests in various autonomous communities, the [General Directorate of Traffic (DGT)->http://www.dgt.es/portal/] has made the decision to repeat the controversial test to obtain the qualification of driving school teacher. In Lanzarote there have been about 190 people affected by an "impossible exam" in which more than 30,000 candidates throughout the national territory have been involved.
The protests that were going to take place from 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the DGT headquarters (Arrecife) have finally been suspended, since the director of the DGT, Pere Navarro, declared last Wednesday that there will be a second chance for those who have not passed the test. "For the moment we have suspended the demonstration but we still do not know the dates of the exams or the conditions. Until July 22 we will not know any results", says Antonio Montesdeoca, one of the candidates from Lanzarote.
The students of the Claxon and Volcán driving schools in Arrecife had launched a joint protest against the DGT that they have decided to suspend in light of the new news. In other autonomous communities such as Murcia or Madrid, some specific protest actions have taken place, despite the statements of the Director of Traffic Pere Navarro.
Outrage
The vast majority of those affected agree on the lack of ethics of the test, which they accuse of being a maneuver by the DGT to cope with the saturation of demand for teachers. "It is outrageous that they do this because too many people have shown up. They could have put a very difficult exam if they had wanted to, but the questions we found do not correspond to what we have studied", declared Ulises Rodríguez, a candidate to be a driving school teacher who also took a six-month preparatory course for the test at the Claxon Driving School in Arrecife.
