The Island Council's Governing Council held this Monday has approved an agreement with the Donkey Association Arre Tinajo Arre for the temporary transfer of seven donkeys, owned by the first institution, which are currently located in the facilities of the Experimental Agricultural Farm.
“These are four adult specimens and three infants, which will be transferred to the association while the works to be carried out on the Farm last, specifically in the area intended for the donkey species”, explained Ángel Vázquez, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
“Among the conditioning works that are going to be carried out are the improvement of the drinking and feeding areas, the repair of walls, the change of doors and the removal of the cement and asbestos roof, so it is necessary to find a new location for the animals until the reforms are completed”, the counselor detailed.
From the Cabildo they have valued "enormously" the work and involvement of the Donkey Association Arre Tinajo Arre "with the protection of this species, the promotion of its well-being and its recovery on the island of Lanzarote".
