The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Public Works Area, has carried out in recent days the renewal of more than fifty light fixtures on the road that connects the towns of Mácher and Yaiza, replacing the old sodium vapor lights with high-efficiency LED technology.

This action, carried out by the road maintenance team, is part of the continuous improvement plan for the island's road network, with the aim of optimizing energy consumption, reducing the carbon footprint, and improving visibility and safety for drivers.

The Minister of Public Works of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, has pointed out that “we continue to advance in the modernization of our road infrastructures with actions that combine sustainability, energy efficiency, and safety”.

“In recent days, the road conservation team has carried out the change of these luminaires on the road between Mácher and Yaiza, and we will continue to do the same on the different roads of the island of Lanzarote, opting for a more efficient and environmentally friendly model,” added Medina.

The replacement of luminaires with LED technology allows significant energy savings, greater equipment durability, and a notable improvement in lighting quality, which directly translates into safer driving, especially at night.

With this type of intervention, the Cabildo de Lanzarote "reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the constant improvement of public infrastructures at the service of the citizenry".
