The Lanzarote Island Council, with the support of the Atlántida and Milana associations, has organized the 1st Congress on Education, Heritage and Sustainability "LOMLOE: how to program with sustainable learning situations and evaluate by competences", which will take place on March 17 and 18 at the Casa-Museo al Campesino.

This event also has the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Education, Universities and Sustainability of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Lanzarote Island Council. It is aimed at teachers and members of the educational community, eco-social groups and companies, institutions and social agents.

The president of the Lanzarote Island Council, María Dolores Corujo, is proud that "the institution has promoted the celebration of this congress, which will feature high-quality presentations"

"Projects already advanced in Lanzarote will be presented to encourage the establishment of a common general plan and create an Island Commission for monitoring heritage and sustainability where the progress made can be shared and a community improvement plan can be defined for the coming years," explains Myriam Barros, the Councilor for Education of the first island corporation.

Specifically, the congress will analyze the challenges of the LOMLOE educational reform to achieve the objectives of the state and Canary Islands 2030 Agenda and its integration into pioneering experiences in Lanzarote, examining some keys such as competency and situational learning, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and inclusion, heritage and entrepreneurship, and programming and evaluation.

Likewise, pioneering work experiences that can already be seen in Lanzarote and their connection with other islands will be disseminated.

In addition, "this congress is intended to establish a network of centers, teachers and eco-social groups that are organized as axes of educational and cultural change, forging alliances for the application of the SDGs", details the Councilor for Education of the Island Council.

Teachers who attend the 1st Congress on Education, Heritage and Sustainability of Lanzarote will be able to receive a certificate of attendance, provided they register through the web of the Lanzarote Teacher Center (CEP).

The rest of the people interested in attending can register through the website of the Lanzarote Island Council, at this link.
