The Cabildo launches the second edition of Lanzarote en Familia with more days and reference speakers

The program, with a social and educational vocation, offers practical talks to support parenting and conciliation, and includes free toy library and sign language interpreter services

PRESENTACIÓN PROYECTO LANZAROTE EN FAMILIA (5)

The Youth Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote presented this Tuesday morning the second edition of “Lanzarote en Familia”, a program already consolidated as a space for learning, accompaniment and conciliation aimed at families on the island, families of very different kinds and with very different needs.

The presentation ceremony, held in the plenary hall of the Island Corporation, also included the participation of Mónica Vargas, from the Institute of Advanced Physiotherapy of Lanzarote (IFAL), an entity that collaborates in this initiative and is responsible for designing the program promoted by Youth. In addition, the project adds the support of the Education Area, managed by Councilor Ascensión Toledo, confirming the transversal and community vocation of this cycle.

The Councilor for Youth commented that “this second edition reinforces our commitment to families, giving them access to top-level experts and creating a close and participatory environment. It is a project made to accompany, listen and offer practical resources that improve the well-being of children and those who care for them.”

After the success of its first edition in 2024 - which brought together hundreds of attendees and obtained a very positive assessment from families - “Lanzarote en Familia” returns in 2025 with a renewed format that expands the number of days and reinforces its commitment to the quality of its speakers.

The cycle will be held entirely in the Farmer's Monument, in San Bartolomé, an emblematic and accessible space that will guarantee the participation and comfort of the families attending. In addition, each day will have free toy library and sign language interpreter services.

Social and educational vocation

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, has underlined about this project “the need to provide families with spaces for orientation, reflection and meeting that allow them to face the challenges of parenting and conciliation with more tools, providing training and dispelling myths.”

While the Councilor for Education, Ascensión Toledo, has stressed the importance of coordinated work between areas: “The education and well-being of families are not isolated compartments, but a joint effort. This program contributes to parents, mothers and professionals having new tools.”

Tickets will have a symbolic price of 5 euros, available through the Ecoentradas platform. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a local NGO dedicated to supporting children and families, thus reinforcing the solidarity component of this initiative.
