The Councilor for Industry, Commerce and Consumption of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Emilio Bermúdez, has addressed in these days to the head of Installation of Disa on the island, Carlos Ojeda, in order to show the concern of the institution regarding the complaints and denunciations received regarding the quality of the diesel fuel that is being dispensed at the service stations. According to the first institution of the island, that could be the cause of "the constant breakdowns suffered by car engines, forcing their owners to face costly repairs".
From the Cabildo they inform that, according to the mechanical workshops themselves that have addressed the aforementioned repairs, "the breakdowns may be occurring as a consequence of the poor condition of the fuel supplied by the gas stations, which in turn are supplied by the Disa tanks, showing the presence of water, salts and chemical products, among others".
For this reason, the Councilor for Industry, Emilio Bermúdez, urges the supplying company to carry out controls and analysis of diesel fuel from the aforementioned tanks before starting distribution to the service stations of Lanzarote. Likewise, it is requested that all appropriate measures be taken to avoid the continuation of these events, causing serious damage to users and businessmen.
