The Cabildo of Lanzarote wanted to send a "message of tranquility to the population and informs that there is no risk to public health after detecting an error in the distribution of seeds in the Experimental Agricultural Farm."

"After detecting a human error in the distribution of seeds from the Experimental Agricultural Farm, the technical staff reacted immediately and contacted, one by one, all the people who had received the lots," they explain from the institution.

The Cabildo points out that "all of them have been clearly and immediately informed of the need to proceed with the return of the seeds for their correct replacement, with the safety and traceability of the process being fully guaranteed."

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, wants to send a message of absolute tranquility to the population: "The reaction of the technicians has been exemplary, rapid and effective, and that has meant that at no time was there a risk to public health. The staff immediately proceeded to communicate the error to each and every one of the people who took the seeds and the need to proceed with their return for their correct replacement."

The Cabildo emphasizes that "the management of the incident has been transparent, rigorous and focused on the protection of farmers and citizens."

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, deeply regrets that "the PSOE has generated an unnecessary alarm among the population and uses such a sensitive issue as public health as a weapon for exclusively partisan purposes. The Socialist Party could have contacted this Presidency in order to obtain the necessary and correct information on the situation, avoiding generating a totally unjustified social alarm. What the Socialist Party has done is enormously irresponsible towards the citizens, it is very serious and has crossed all the red lines of political exercise. Not everything is valid in politics."
