The Cabildo of Lanzarote has started this Wednesday the channeling works on the LZ-2, at the entrance to Arrecife, to avoid possible floods during the rainy season.
The vice president and head of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, has moved to the site to see the works firsthand. "These are small perforations to channel the water that, in the rainy season, accumulates in the left lane of the road, and try to send it to the drainage pipe," explains the councilor.
In order to carry out the works, the 'Road Conservation' team of the Island Corporation has cut off the lane that connects the ring road (LZ-3) and the highway that connects Playa Honda and Arrecife (LZ-2).
The vice president regrets the "inconvenience" caused by this work to the island's drivers, but assures that it will serve "to avoid possible accidents due to flooding on the road."
