The Island Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved the Public Employment Offer for the year 2018, which has also been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, and "which aims to cover certain categories or jobs that are essential in the first Corporation to provide effective and efficient care to citizens," as stated by the Minister of Human Resources, Luis Arráez Guadalupe.
The Public Employment Offer includes 39 internal promotion positions and 24 additional open-entry positions, corresponding to the replacement rate for vacancies of public employees who stopped serving the first Corporation in 2017 for various reasons such as retirement, disability, or death.
The Cabildo points out that it is necessary to fill the vacancies of three architect positions, two technical architect positions, two biologists, two technical computer engineers, one industrial engineer, one pedagogue, one senior occupational risk prevention technician, and eight general administration technicians, among others.
On the other hand, the Public Employment Offer also includes 28 positions corresponding to personnel declared indefinite non-fixed by judicial ruling and another 28 positions referring to the stabilization rate of temporary employment.
First Management Plan for Professional Advancement
For his part, the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, has announced that "the Governing Council of the first Institution also approved the first Management Plan for the Professional Advancement of public employees of the Cabildo of Lanzarote."
"A plan that will allow, through the regularization of permanent labor personnel and internal promotion, to contribute to the better use of the professionals who work for the Corporation, thus optimizing the organization, while also complying with the right of public employees to develop their professional career, enabling their progression and mobility," San Ginés emphasized.
In this regard, the Minister of Human Resources of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Luis Arráez Guadalupe, has stated that "the internal promotion processes will be carried out through the competitive examination system, with the completion of knowledge accreditation tests and with the assessment of the services provided and any merits that determine the aptitude and suitability of the candidates."
Regarding the regularization of permanent labor personnel, which will primarily affect the positions of Group A (subgroups A1 and A2), this must be done taking into account the classification and legal regime of the corresponding positions, through the preparation and subsequent approval of the Job Position List (RPT), on which the Cabildo is currently working, according to the institution.
"It is undeniable that the performance of certain professional tasks, their specialization, complexity, or responsibility, determine that the jobs and their legal regime must be linked to the status of civil servant," concluded the Minister of Human Resources.
