The Environment Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote also ordered the suspension of the works on the house in La Graciosa of the former mayor of Arrecife, María Isabel Déniz. In a resolution signed on June 16 by the area's councillor, Marciano Acuña, the suspension and sealing of the works is requested.
It also announces the initiation of a sanctioning file in which it is warned that the demolition of the works may be forcibly imposed at the expense of the offender, and the complaint is sent to both the Agency for the Protection of the Urban and Natural Environment and the Heritage Commission of the Cabildo.
The resolution, which entered the Teguise Town Hall on June 29, originates from a complaint by an agent of the environment service made on June 8. The order to suspend and seal the works by the Teguise Town Hall was signed on June 28 but was not made effective until July 4, when the work was already well advanced, and despite the fact that the first report of the Local Police pointing out the infraction of the works was drawn up on June 3 and a second one had to be drafted on the 22nd.
The Cabildo's file mentions the demolition of two warehouses of 72 and 32 square meters that are included within the protection catalog of elements of patrimonial interest of the Governing Plan for Use and Management of the Chinijo Archipelago.
The works were protected by permits from the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo, but for repair and improvement of one of the warehouses and they took advantage of obtaining the municipal license by administrative silence, although as the Cabildo's report says "at no time was there any mention of the demolition of the warehouses and construction of new work".
