The Department of Urban Planning of the Arrecife City Council informs citizens of the official publication in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of the Supplementary General Planning Plan (PGOS), after its initial approval in the municipal plenary session held on March 17.
This plan, which replaces the previous urban planning document in force since 1991, contemplates the creation of land for the construction of more than 5,000 homes, of which 1,500 will be for public protection. In addition, it includes the regularization of more than 450 homes in areas such as Las Vírgenes and Camino de Güime, providing legal certainty to its residents.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Maciot Cabrera, "has played a fundamental role in the preparation and processing of this document." Since his arrival in the area, "Cabrera has worked to correct inherited decisions that did not conform to the city model that Arrecife needs, such as the protection of the Camino de Güime and the classification of the Las Vírgenes settlement. His management has been key to unblocking a plan that had been paralyzed for years by political and business interests," they say from the City Council.
With the publication in the BOP, a public exhibition period of 45 days is opened so that citizens can present suggestions and claims. The City Council encourages all residents to actively participate in this process, which seeks to build a more planned, sustainable and equitable Arrecife.
Although this Friday it has been published in the BOP, we will have to wait for its publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, which will be, predictably, on May 13, so that the period of public exposure of 45 days is opened so that citizens can submit suggestions and claims. This period will begin to count from the day following its publication in the BOC, that is, from May 14.
