The bidding for the construction of the CEIP La Garita dining room is "great news for Arrieta", says Alfredo Villalba, PSOE candidate for mayor of Haría. In this way, Alfredo Villalba echoes the publication, this Thursday, May 18, on the Public Sector Contracts Platform, of the bidding for "a work much demanded by the entire educational community of the municipality".
Under the name of 'Extension of the eco-dining room and connection of classrooms with the main building EIP La Garita', and with a base bidding budget of 212,966.85 euros, the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands has taken a decisive step so that the new dining room of the CEIP of Arrieta "is closer to becoming a reality", says Villalba.
Until now, the Arrieta school dining room did not have a kitchen, so the menu for the more than 130 students at the center has been provided by a catering company, whose continuity had already been ruled out. The new facilities guarantee the full development of the Eco-dining rooms project at the CEIP La Garita.
"A historical claim of Arrieta and Haría"
Manuela Armas from Lanzarote points out that the eco-dining room of the CEIP La Garita "will facilitate reconciliation for families and offer children healthy food in a safe environment." With an execution period of three months, the new facilities are expected to be operational at the beginning of the 23/24 school year.
Eco-dining rooms of the Canary Islands is a reference program in improving the quality of food, projecting educational and food health values through the commitment and development of ecological agricultural production in the Canary Islands. It is based on the incorporation of ecological, fresh, local and seasonal products in the menus of schools, social health centers and collective catering in the Canary Islands.
The PSOE candidate for mayor of Haría concludes: "We are in luck, since this has been a historical claim of Arrieta and Haría, so we have made a great effort throughout the legislature to make it a reality."
