The Arrecife City Council has decreed this afternoon the suspension of all outdoor activities due to the severe downpour in the capital of Lanzarote, after the heavy rains.
The mayor, Yonathan de León, has signed the decree suspending all outdoor activities and in municipal facilities, during the afternoon and evening of this Friday. Among other events, within the Christmas program, the inauguration of the Nativity Scene in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park was scheduled for this Friday.
The council points out that it has deployed all its personnel to assist the population, and on public roads affected by the copious floods.
The mayor, together with all the members of the Municipal Government group, and all the personnel, "are helping in the actions to facilitate the opening of the roads affected by these floods, and that were closed to traffic as a precaution".
