The Arrecife City Council has concluded in these weeks the repair work of all the lighting in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park. The restoration work of these classic-style cast iron lampposts has been carried out directly by municipal workers.
The mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, together with the Councilor for Public Works, the area to which the Municipal Lighting Service is attached, Roberto Herbón, visited this historic park at dusk to announce the work carried out and activate the new LED lighting in one of the phases.
The Arrecife City Council has carried out improvement work on the entire perimeter of the Ramírez Cerdá, the first park built in the capital of Lanzarote. Its name is in homage to the former mayor of Arrecife and president of the Cabildo, whose centenary of his birth was commemorated last year.
Along with the restoration and painting work of these lampposts - made of cast iron, the City Council, through the Municipal Lighting Service, has installed a phase with new LED lamps - on its maritime front, which improves lighting and contributes to reducing the energy expenditure bill in Arrecife, the capital of the island of the Biosphere.
The mayor, Astrid Pérez, has announced that the City Council is also working on the new lighting network for the Theme Park, next to El Reducto beach, within the Municipal Plan to improve public spaces and parks in Arrecife.
