The aesthetic transformation of the Playa Honda industrial area is progressing. New businesses have already adapted their facades to the current ordinance and the mayor has appreciated "the great effort that more and more entrepreneurs are applying"

New establishments located in the industrial and commercial area of Playa Honda have already adapted their facades to the Aesthetic Ordinance approved by the City Council to harmonize the image of this area of the municipality. "The change is already becoming visible," says the mayor, Isidro Pérez, who has appreciated "the great effort and initiative that more and more entrepreneurs are applying."

From the City Council they remember that this ordinance "responds to a historical social demand since the appearance of the first industrial buildings in the seventies." Now, this area that had registered a great growth without an aesthetic unit, is beginning to show a new image in which white, black and gray predominate, "using the essential island values".

The mayor highlights that this "revalues" this commercial, industrial and service park, locating it "at the entrance to Lanzarote" due to its proximity to the airport.

"This regulatory framework allows establishing an integral and coherent image to design and review new developments, as well as establishing guidelines to remodel the existing building stock," they point out from the City Council.

For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning and Industrial Zone, Marlene Romero, stresses that with the application of the Aesthetic Ordinance, the aim is to "restrict advertising, especially on the facades of buildings, to create a balance between public space and business activity"; as well as "stimulate the industrial zone as a focus of economic interest through the architectural creativity of its design, ensure the careful execution and use of quality materials and establish considerations based on ecological aspects of the Jable corridor".
