The Teguise City Council will begin the execution of the municipal Asphalt Plan in the first months of 2026, a historic project for the improvement of the road network that will mark a before and after in the accessibility, road safety, and quality of life of the residents of all the towns in the municipality. This is an action financed entirely with municipal surplus, which reflects responsible economic management and a clear commitment to reinvest public resources in basic and necessary infrastructure for the citizens

The year 2025 has been key in the development of this initiative, laying the groundwork for the plan through technical and strategic planning that will allow for its correct execution throughout 2026. The Asphalt Plan has been designed to be developed in three phases, ensuring an orderly, progressive, and balanced intervention in different areas of the municipality.

Currently, the three planned zones have already been awarded, which will allow construction to begin in the early months of 2026 and ensure that the improvements reach most of the municipal territory in an organized manner. The plan contemplates an investment of over five million euros and will allow action on a large area of the municipal road network, with projects in towns such as Mozaga, Muñique, Soo, Tao, Tiagua, Guatiza, Tahiche, Teseguite, Los Valles, Los Cocoteros, and Costa Teguise. The works will include paving, resurfacing, signage, and road surface improvement, with the aim of enhancing mobility, safety, and the general condition of public roads

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, has pointed out that this Asphalt Plan responds to a medium and long-term vision for the municipality, based on planning, territorial equity, and attention to historical neighborhood demands. "These are not isolated actions, but a structured plan that will allow for real and progressive improvement of the road network throughout the municipality," she highlighted.

With this initiative, the Teguise City Council reaffirms its commitment to improving municipal infrastructure and to responsible management of public resources, prioritizing strategic projects that directly impact the well-being and quality of life of the population
