Teguise receives the work of the new cultural and sports headquarters of Tahiche

It will be the headquarters of cultural associations of the town, as well as an outdoor place to practice climbing, since it houses a climbing wall in the backyard

New cultural venue in Tahíche

The works to transform the old school of the town of Tahiche into a new social, cultural and sports meeting point have come to an end. This was announced by the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, who visited the property this Friday.

The adaptation project was tendered by the Contracting area coordinated by Olivia Duque, and is part of the 2020 Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, with a budget of 96,640 euros.

“Today we celebrate the conclusion of a work that serves as an example of the social and cultural policy that the Government group of Teguise is carrying out, and that we will continue to promote to provide citizens with new leisure spaces,” said Oswaldo Betancort during his visit to the future headquarters of cultural associations of Tahiche, as well as an outdoor place to practice climbing, since it houses a climbing wall in the backyard.

“The conditioning of the old Tahiche school into a modern space with several rooms and a small outdoor climbing wall with climbing walls has been done in response to all those demands collected in the neighborhood rounds that we do throughout the municipality of Teguise,” commented Betancort, assuring that they will continue to "materialize all the projects underway in other parts of the municipality and the island of La Graciosa.”
