The Local Police and Animal Welfare Area of the Teguise City Council has presented the new Animal Protection Unit. This new project marks the beginning of a stage in which not only the safety of people will be ensured, but also the welfare of animals in the municipality.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted the importance of this progress and commented that "we are very excited to launch this new unit, which represents a significant step towards a more compassionate and responsible community. We want all the inhabitants of Teguise to know that their concerns have been heard and that we are committed to the protection and welfare of our animals."

For his part, the Councilor for Local Police and Animal Welfare, Ginés González, adds that "this unit will not only work hand in hand with protection associations and volunteers, but will also help the primary sector to adapt its facilities to comply with the new Animal Welfare Law. Our goal is to create a solid network of support and collaboration throughout the municipality."

The presentation was attended by the Civil Guard, the Seprona, the UPAM of the Local Police of Arrecife and the Rural Guard, who supported this initiative. The unit is made up of five agents from the Local Police, who have shown great commitment and dedication to the development of this project.

Finally, all those interested are invited to attend the training courses that will be developed throughout this year and the coming years. These courses seek to increase knowledge and empathy towards animals, thus promoting a more conscious and protective community.

With this new unit, Teguise not only responds to an urgent need, but also positions itself as a benchmark in animal protection and in the creation of a safer and more respectful environment for all living beings.
