Teguise presents an ambitious Christmas program, made by everyone and for everyone

This Thursday, December 13, the Christmas festivities begin in the Royal Villa, in Costa Teguise and in La Graciosa, with an extensive Christmas program, which will also tour the rest of the towns in the municipality, and which includes for the first time a gastronomic proposal: the Enyesque Route.

"New challenges and new people are joining the social life of the municipality of Teguise", said Oswaldo Betancort during the presentation of the Teguise Christmas program 2018-2019. "And it is that the groups that have always promoted our traditions and cultural customs are now joined by neighborhood and business associations that also want to be an active part of society, and who have captured the message that unity is strength", added Betancort, alluding to the joint initiatives that have been launched in Teguise between public companies and private agents.

The mayor of Teguise thanked all the groups, municipal staff, his Government group, and also the Cabildo, "for their contribution to developing a program that aims to reach all segments of the population", considered Betancort, wishing that "the surge of solidarity and the desire to share typical of these dates, prevail during the 365 days of the year."

The head of Culture and Festivities, Olivia Duque, highlighted "the important role that artisans, merchants and businessmen will play this year with initiatives that seek the economic revitalization of Teguise", and listed many of the events that make up "this ambitious Christmas program made by everyone and for all audiences".

The inauguration of the Municipal Nativity Scene in Plaza Camilo José Cela in La Villa this Friday, December 14, will be followed by other initiatives with a lot of tradition, such as the Senior Citizens Meeting at the Monument or the Choir Meeting in the Church of La Villa, both on Saturday the 15th.

The musical notes of Menudos Timplistas at 12 noon and the voices of Calicanto, at 8 p.m., will sound in the Santo Domingo Convent of La Villa on Sunday, December 16. And after them, several concerts by folk groups and performances by parrandas, among others, but the most supportive call will be made by the Acompañar Association, with a benefit concert on Friday the 21st at the Santo Domingo Convent, with many guest artists, such as Maru Cabrera, Elisa Felipe, Laura Cox, Estefanía Curbelo, Ari Jiménez, Yoriell Carmona, Jesús Garriga, Sergio Padrón, Yosán Pereda and Yarel Hernández.

On December 24, the representation with the most tradition in Teguise will take place, the staging of the Mystery of the Birth of Jesus, with performances by Rancho Chico and Pascuas de Teguise and the subsequent Midnight Mass in the Church Ntra. Mrs. de Guadalupe.

Craft Fair and Enyesque Route

From December 21 to 23, those who visit the Plaza de Leones in La Villa will find the third edition of the Craft Fair, from 12 to 9 p.m., with commercial and cultural revitalization during the three days. Likewise, and as a novelty, the restaurateurs of the municipality have proposed an Enyesque Route, as an opportunity to consume the richest of local gastronomy.

Disney factory flies to Teguise

On Friday, January 4 and Saturday, January 5, there will be two sessions of "Disney Map, The Map of Dreams", a new musical directed by Sergio Niz, Councilor for Youth, who will once again bring the magic and characters of the Disney factory closer to the little ones; and that Saturday will be the prelude to the Great Cavalcade of Kings through the Historic Site of La Villa, with animation groups.
