The City Council of Teguise allocates 292,000 euros to different improvement actions in the CEIP Costa Teguise. This project is being carried out with a full investment of own funds that responds to demands raised by the educational community and the AMPA Pejeverde of the center.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, visited the works together with the Councilor for Works, Eugenio Robayna; the Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez; and the Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat. During the visit, Duque highlighted the importance of continuing to invest in decent, safe and functional educational spaces.
“These actions are the result of a process of active listening to the families and professionals of CEIP Costa Teguise. Taking this into consideration, we have proceeded to respond to a need that represents a direct improvement in the quality of education and in the daily well-being of the students”, said the mayor.
Among the interventions, 232,000 euros have been allocated to the installation of a structure that will create shaded spaces on the outdoor sports court of the school. For this, stainless steel columns have been installed that will serve as support for a high-resistance tensioned canvas, with the aim of offering protection against the sun. The pavement of the court will also be reinforced in order to guarantee greater safety and comfort for boys and girls.
In parallel, the center's playground has been completely renovated with an extra investment of 40,000 euros, providing it with better equipment, adapted pavement and greater safety. On the other hand, repair and comprehensive renovation works have been carried out on the bathrooms, with an additional investment of 20,000 euros, which includes the replacement of toilets, improvements in plumbing and general conditioning. To these improvements is also added the rehabilitation of the perimeter fence of the school, reinforcing the security of the school environment.
