The Municipal School of Music of the Villa began its classes this Monday, after the signing of an agreement with the Teguise City Council. With that agreement, the City Council has contributed 147,000 euros to offer the musical education service for two school years.
Thus, from 3 years onwards, the Music School will teach an instrumental program with percussion, guitar, complementary piano, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, horn and saxophone, as well as music and movement and children's choir from October to June.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for Culture, Olivia Duque, have sealed this agreement with the director of the School, Ayoze Rodríguez, with the aim of "promoting interest in music from childhood and meeting the demand that exists both at the municipal and island level," said the mayor.
The educational offer of the Teguise School of Music is aimed at all audiences, since there is no age limit, according to the director, Ayoze Rodríguez, who pointed out that the registration period is open in the afternoon (from 4 to 8 pm) at the School itself, located in the Plaza de Los Leones de la Villa de Teguise, although you can also contact by phone (928 84 53 12) or by email at escuelademusicadeteguise@hotmail.com.
In total, 140 students can be admitted during the course, so people who are on the waiting list will have to wait for a vacancy to occur and the vacant places will be offered to them.
