"Surprising call" about the house on Fajardo Street

"I received a surprising call that warned me of certain openings regarding the house on Fajardo Street. It left me surprised." In such a mysterious way, the mayor of Haría, José Torres Stinga, has referred to the house in Arrecife that the Cabildo of Lanzarote has acquired for 1.6 million euros to turn it into an archeology museum.

The mayor did not want to provide more details about this call, but he did point out on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that "it gives the sensation that there may be mojo with morena." "They called me to ask me something and I told them that I had no idea," the mayor limited himself to saying, who believes that in "the next few days" this issue will come to light.

The only thing that Torres Stinga has indicated is that, given the telephone call he received, "it seems that this issue is not over." "I have a feeling that we are going to be facing a series," warned the mayor of Haría.

The acquisition of this house was so controversial that even the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, ended up clarifying the personal relationship he had with the daughter of the owner of the historic building, in the face of the criticism he was receiving. San Ginés assured that his relationship began in January 2013, when "three plenary agreements" in 2012 already supported this purchase. "The relationship is supervening, after all the plenary agreements," he indicated at the time.

Recently, the PP sent a press release in which it stated that the Cabildo ran the risk of losing the money invested so far and even the ownership of the house, in case it could not meet the payments to which it has committed with the owners of this building. "In the event that the Island Institution, for any reason, could not meet the deferred amounts, the owner could request the resolution of the sale and keep the ownership of the house and the money," said the PP spokesperson, Ángel Vázquez.
