Stinga accuses Oswaldo Betancort of "institutional disloyalty" and announces that the works on the North Line pipeline will resume on Monday

“Instead of sending a provision of paralysis on a Friday at noon, he could have requested the documentation directly and he would have been informed that he already had it in his possession,” says the vice president of the Water Consortium

North Line Pipeline Works

The vice president of the Water Consortium, Andrés Stinga, has reported that "the works on the North Line pipeline will resume normally on Monday," according to those responsible for the aforementioned work.

Stinga has reported that, contrary to what was stated by the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, the works have the corresponding signaling, beaconing, signage, fencing and vehicle traffic direction plan."

From the Consortium they assure that "this plan was agreed with the technicians of the Teguise City Council, the security and health coordinator, the optional management and the technical assistance of the Government of the Canary Islands and was sent by email to the City Council last January 5, also communicating the start of the works."

After the mayor's provision ordering the stoppage of the works “until a Traffic Signaling Security Plan is presented to this City Council”, the Government of the Canary Islands acted in record time and last Saturday the requested document was registered in the electronic headquarters of Teguise, which had previously been sent by email, for which the works can be resumed.

Stinga has lamented "Oswaldo Betancort's lack of institutional loyalty." "Instead of sending a provision of paralysis on a Friday at noon, he could have requested the documentation directly and he would have been informed that he already had it in his possession,” he says.

“Once again, Oswaldo Betancort has put his own electoral ambitions ahead of the interests of Lanzarote, generating a problem where there was none by trying to delay a vital work for the interests of the population of Haría and Teguise”, said the vice president.
