The Councilor for Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, Maite Corujo, visited this morning the Day Center for Minors located in Maneje, on a day in which she was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Cathaysa Suárez.
The meeting served to learn about the new activities organized with the aim of offering these boys and girls a more dynamic, creative and enriching summer: crafts workshops, face painting, bracelet design, etc.
This initiative is part of a program that seeks to break with the usual routine of the center and provide new experiences to the children during the summer period.
Councilor Maite Corujo explained that "the idea is that boys and girls can also enjoy the summer and change their routine; that they have fun, that they have special moments, that they laugh, play and discover new things. That is why we wanted to launch these small workshops and our intention is to continue developing more activities of this type in the coming weeks."
Some workshops that also have the collaboration of the Department of Culture, which is directed by Abigail González.
For her part, from the Department of Citizen Participation, Cathaysa Suárez gave backpacks and a small gift to the minors as part of a gesture that seeks to recognize their effort and encourage enthusiasm in these summer days.
The Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, thus emphasizes the commitment to the well-being and integral development of minors, especially those who are part of social programs.
"It is about continuing to work transversally to generate spaces for coexistence and learning that contribute to their personal and emotional growth," he said.
