Although she already did so in the Arrecife plenary session, the Councilor for Health and Cemeteries of the City Council, Saro González, has once again apologized to the Councilor of Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, Leticia Padilla, after the discussion she had with her during the plenary session. However, the popular councilor has also accused Padilla of lying. "She is not interested in me doing good things," she said in an interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.
"She has been in the media for a week saying that she had paid 7,000 euros for a violinist knowing that it is not true, and she continues to post it on social media," said Saro González, who also questioned the attitude of the Councilor of Lanzarote en Pie- Sí Podemos after leaving the plenary session after the discussion, claiming to have suffered an anxiety attack.
"A person who has an anxiety attack does not leave the plenary session and write on their Facebook and issue a press release," said the PP councilor, who also pointed out that Leticia Padilla "was not very bad when she went to eat with the government group".
Her explanation about the expenses of All Saints' Day
Regarding the criticism received for the City Council's spending on the celebration of All Saints' Day in the municipal cemetery, Saro González wanted to explain that what was spent was 5,400 euros, but that hiring the violinist was only 400. And the rest was to place some tents "to give some shelter to the people who were there". "And the chairs and microphones were taken, because it was also the Púa group of the Arrecife City Council," she added.
"There were three budgets that were requested and this was the only one that was valid and it was very difficult for me to get this out for All Saints' Day. I got everything out almost on the eve, because there was no way. I saw myself alone, without a technician, without anyone to support me and I wanted it to be a beautiful day because, as I found the cemetery, for me it was like a challenge," González continued.
She defends doing "a good job"
In addition, the Councilor for Health and Cemeteries has pointed out that it was not an issue that was taken to the plenary session this Wednesday. "But it was necessary to ruin an important issue that I was carrying from the Children's School," said Saro González, who criticized that Leticia Padilla "was not interested" in this issue.
"What we achieved yesterday, what was approved, is that not only the children of wealthy people enter the Children's School, but also the children of parents who are unemployed, who have few economic resources, from single-parent families," González explained.
"But she was not interested, she is not interested in me doing good things, in me working, in me being 24 hours a day, because I am not only the eight hours that I am in the City Council, which sometimes I am more. I am doing a good job, listening to people, making visits..." defended the PP councilor. "And I only came to work, I did not come to be judged," she added.
"I'm having a pretty bad time"
Despite all this, the Councilor for Health and Cemeteries of Arrecife has acknowledged that she messed up with the words she addressed to Leticia Padilla and has said that she is having "a pretty bad time" after the discussion. And she has pointed out that she was also reprimanded by other members of the plenary session such as the spokesman of CC, Echedey Eugenio.
"When I left there, in the recess, I went to have a coffee and when I was walking down the street, Echedey told me 'I will never forgive you for this'. I sat at the table, I got up, I went to the office and they had to bring me a lime blossom tea," said Saro Perdomo in tears, who has stated that, in fact, she did not go to eat with the government group after the plenary session. "I came home, with the tension high and a horrible headache," she pointed out.
